Welcome to QUFSD!
Queensbury Union Free School District serves more than 3,400 students in grades K-12 on a single campus with four school buildings:
The district has a reputation for academic excellence. It consistently ranks among the top school districts in the region based on academic data, and more than 90 percent of students graduate with a Regents or Advanced Regents diploma. Grants and partnerships have also helped launch initiatives such as the Early College High School, International Baccalaureate, Project Lead the Way and innovation space programs.
Having one of the lowest total spending per pupil rates in the region, as well as the state, has also earned Queensbury a reputation for fiscal responsibility.
The district mission
is to empower all students to be lifelong learners, inspired to pursue their dreams and contribute to the global community. School board members, administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and parents all work together to fulfill this mission in tangible, measurable ways.
Partnering with the Community
Community partnerships have helped turn this district into the heart of the Town of Queensbury. It is a place where residents of all ages and backgrounds come to enjoy first-class facilities, competition-level playing fields, and exciting student productions. Nearly 60 organizations, including the Town of Queensbury Parks & Recreation Department
, hold numerous programs and activities on school grounds each year.
The partnership doesn’t end there! Residents also help the Queensbury Board of Education and administrators set educational and fiscal priorities. They do so by volunteering for parent-teacher associations and school committees, by discussing topics at community forums, by making comments at school board meetings and on budget vote exit surveys, and through one-on-one conversations with school leaders.
In Queensbury, there’s always a way to get involved in your school district.
Reaching Out Locally, Globally
Students and staff members are just as involved in their local and global communities. Each year, they participate in numerous service projects, fundraisers and job-shadowing experiences. They also serve as international ambassadors, through foreign-exchange programs, visits with foreign diplomats, musical performances in Europe, a partnership with sister-city Saga, Japan, and more.
